Prodigal Pen

I found the pen I was looking for on Thursday. It turned out that I hadn't brought it with me, and it was lying on the floor in my bedroom. Duh.

Back to Life!

Hiya, folks! It's me again. I hope you all had a simply peachy summer. I'm afraid I didn't accomplish as much this summer as I'd intended to, but I did spend a lot of time doing various photography projects and a potentially too much time on my webcomic. Other activities included writing, reading, and not getting out much. Here's some stuff from the summer you won't want to miss out on:
And for those of you who are just dying to ask:
  • Basic Painting
  • Basic Sculpture
  • Figure Drawing II
  • Illustration II
And I still don't have a driver's license and I still haven't managed to get any fiction published. So, status quo all around. See you in class.

Boids

Hello everyone! I hereby present...the bird project. First up, the illustrated essay:

And here are all the cards:

Some are upside-down or sideways, but hey, that just means it's interactive, right? People like interactive things.

I hope to see all of you next semester! It was an honor and a pleasure working with you and I was sorry it had to be cut short that way. You'll be pleased to hear that the darkroom time I gained allowed me to pass my photography on class and with flying colors. And for those of you who caught wind of the fact that I was sick, I'm feeling much better, thanks. Have a great summer, and I'll see you in August.

PS - "Boids" can also refer to an artificial life simulation which imitates the behavior of flocking birds. Learn about boids.

October

October is Book Month and also features Dostoevsky's birthday. It's also Space Month. So hopefully this piece manages to encompass all three!

This is the final from the fork project.

What's Up

Hi, Folks! For those of you who are curious, the story is: I had to take an incomplete in Illustration in order to finish everything else on time. So I'm behind, but the blog will eventually be up-to-date (promise!) though it isn't yet. I plan to attack some of it Saturday afternoon, and hopefully it will see glorious completion within a reasonable timeframe. So check back in a week or so if you want to see Everything.
Hope all of you have a nice summer! See you next semester.

Fork Comps

Behold, I am not dead. (Although I may be misinterpreting the assignment.) Here are some cheerful comps for everyone to peruse. (Angry comps will be provided later, where available.)

FORKLIFT

He came out kind of scary, sorry. I think the red lip was too much.

Attack of the Bookplate

This bookplate was created in scratchboard with minimal digital edits afterward. It's real purdy.

Note: bookplate is actually quite tame.
