Looks Like It's Time For...

Yeah. This thing again. Hi everybody. I don't know most of you, but I guess we'll be acquainted with each other soon enough. I'm John W. Allie, and the W. really is not there just so that I can sound pretentious. I started using it a while ago for reasons beyond the scope of this already boring paragraph and I got used to it. You can call me John, though, and "Allie" is pronounced the same as "alley."

My summer was pretty good but it could have been better. I'm glad to be back now, and taking Illustration, Figure Painting, Writing for Children, Linguistics, and an art Independent Study. Yes, these are all exciting things.

For those of you who don't know me, you can check out my website, or you can jump straight to my webcomic, which is where all the good stuff is anyway. The writing is better than the art, though, I will warn you up front. It's a learning experience. Anyway, I read a lot, and write, and don't watch any TV besides Star Trek, and think webcomics are the bee's knees, and I suspect that by the end of the semester the class will be fairly evenly divided between people who want to be my friend and people who can't wait to be rid of me.

What the heck is a triffid? Always ask Wikipedia first, because Wikipedia knows about everything.

Prodigal Pen

I found the pen I was looking for on Thursday. It turned out that I hadn't brought it with me, and it was lying on the floor in my bedroom. Duh.

Back to Life!

Hiya, folks! It's me again. I hope you all had a simply peachy summer. I'm afraid I didn't accomplish as much this summer as I'd intended to, but I did spend a lot of time doing various photography projects and a potentially too much time on my webcomic. Other activities included writing, reading, and not getting out much. Here's some stuff from the summer you won't want to miss out on:

• 1001: A Space Odyssey. If you like 2001: A Space Odyssey and you like illuminated manuscripts, you might think this is hilarious, but I can't promise it.

I hope to see all of you next semester! It was an honor and a pleasure working with you and I was sorry it had to be cut short that way. You'll be pleased to hear that the darkroom time I gained allowed me to pass my photography on class and with flying colors. And for those of you who caught wind of the fact that I was sick, I'm feeling much better, thanks. Have a great summer, and I'll see you in August.

PS - "Boids" can also refer to an artificial life simulation which imitates the behavior of flocking birds. Learn about boids.

What's Up

Hi, Folks! For those of you who are curious, the story is: I had to take an incomplete in Illustration in order to finish everything else on time. So I'm behind, but the blog will eventually be up-to-date (promise!) though it isn't yet. I plan to attack some of it Saturday afternoon, and hopefully it will see glorious completion within a reasonable timeframe. So check back in a week or so if you want to see Everything.
